The sun was shining, the dirt flying, and the cars roaring. The RallyX summer break is officially over! It has been nearly 3 months since the last rallycross which was the South Pacific National Challenge. Beating the summer heat was a good idea but it was still a hot day. Temperatures were well in the high 90s, low 100s. I arrived at the Glen Helen Raceway 11am and there were several cars lined up ready to do practice runs. The course was ran clockwise for practice day. There were several sections that got extremely rutted. If I recall correctly, 2 cars got badly damaged. One car’s lower control arm ball joint separated from the knuckle and another car’s bent the passenger side shock. Onto the pictures!

I also had mechanical problems myself. My WRX would literally just stall out while taking a turn hard/sideways. It would fall flat on its face and drop all the way down to 0 RPM. If I was in gear and engaged the clutch, the car would start itself back up. It was such an annoying problem for Saturday’s practice. I called Forman Performance and they said it could be a fueling issue, tuning issue, or a vacuum leak.
