It’s been a while since we’ve had perfect weather, and had been discussing where we would ride on that perfect day. Finally we decided to ride up San Juan trail on 1.21.13 for the Martin Luther King Holiday. So surprised that we didn’t see many cars parked there, in fact the lot was empty! We gathered at 9:30 and rolled out at 10. Our group was nine deep. We started to ascend and climbed up 6 miles to Cocktail Rock, touched down at 12:30PM and took a 15 min breather. Then we got to enjoy 45 mins of downhill fun! Each of us really enjoyed the ride and scenery, it was such an amazing trail. Every trail has it’s own unique beauty but that day…San Juan trail won our heart. So beautiful up there!
You have to follow the rules but it was free that day.

The trail condition was kind of dry with lose dirt and gravel. It’s gonna be great to have rain for the trail to be nice and tacky again. Everyone made it safely and no one got injured or crashed.
See you guys on the next ride!!!
